“Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we will catch excellence.”
Vince Lombardi

Mr. Locay was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida as a second-generation Cuban American, the product of an immigrant family who instilled in him the values of hard work, dedication, perseverance, and passion.
For more than a decade, Mr. Locay’s professional career has been centered around personal injury claims and civil litigation. He has represented individuals, businesses, and insurance interests in complex injury matters, giving him a unique understanding of how personal injury claims are investigated, evaluated, defended, and ultimately resolved. Today, he uses that experience exclusively to advocate for injured individuals and their families.
Throughout his career, Mr. Locay has handled a wide range of personal injury matters involving automobile accidents, catastrophic injuries, premises liability, wrongful death, and other negligence claims. His litigation experience includes extensive fact and expert discovery, hundreds of depositions, dispositive motion practice, mediations, and courtroom advocacy. Publicly available professional materials have previously credited him with handling more than 50 catastrophic injury matters, multiple wrongful-death cases, and more than 500 fact and expert witness depositions.
Mr. Locay has obtained significant results for his clients, including multimillion-dollar recoveries. Among those results is a settlement exceeding $2 million on behalf of an injured client. He has also tried multiple cases and participated in contested proceedings through successful resolution. These results reflect the same approach he brings to every case: prepare aggressively, understand the evidence, anticipate the opposition, and position the case for the strongest possible outcome.
His background representing parties on different sides of injury litigation including the defense side gives him valuable insight into how insurance companies and defense attorneys evaluate personal injury cases. He understands the strategies commonly used to minimize claims and uses that knowledge when developing cases for his own clients.
Mr. Locay always had a legal education in mind, graduating from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He later attended St. Thomas University School of Law, where he focused heavily on litigation, advocacy, and trial practice and was a member of St. Thomas Law award winning trial team. His educational background and Florida Bar admission are also reflected in multiple public attorney directories.
While in law school, Mr. Locay sought practical courtroom experience and successfully competed for a position on St. Thomas University’s Trial Team. Over the following two years, he participated in numerous mock trials before experienced judges and legal advocates and received recognition for his advocacy in a trial setting.
While attending classes, studying law, and preparing for the Trial Team, Mr. Locay gained employment as a law clerk with a prominent litigation firm focusing on Personal Injury. Over the next several years, he developed substantial litigation experience and ultimately transitioned into practice as an associate attorney after passing the Florida Bar.
Since becoming a licensed Florida attorney, Mr. Locay has devoted a substantial portion of his practice to personal injury and insurance-related litigation. His experience has included catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims, complex insurance disputes, extensive discovery, expert testimony, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and trials.
Today, as a founder of My Trial Lawyer, Mr. Locay focuses his practice on representing injured individuals throughout Florida. His approach is built on preparation, accessibility, and a willingness to litigate cases when necessary. Rather than treating clients as case numbers, Mr. Locay believes in understanding how an injury has affected each client personally, professionally, and financially, and presenting that story in a way that insurance companies, opposing counsel, judges, and juries cannot ignore.
Mr. Locay is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
